I love living in NYC, but every now and then I NEED to get out of it. We did research trying to figure out a nice day trip out of the city. One where we could take the train, spend a few hours there and come back at a decent hour. We started by looking to see where the Metro North goes. Looked at all the stops along the way and then researched the town. We landed on Cold Spring, NY. The town looked quaint - an hour train ride - $30 round trip, and had antique stores. Many, many, antique stores. Perfect. And what's this? A bar that's also a barber right when I need a haircut? @barberandbrewny Perfect. We got off the train and walked towards the Hudson River first. It was an icy tundra. It was the perfect day and the temp wasn't too low. We then walked down the main street. Stopped in at a few of those antique stores/thrift stores and questioned whether or not we should buy the old wooden night stand. How would we get it back? That solves our problem. After lunch at Hudson Hil cafe, where the pancakes were fluffy and oh so tasty, we went to get a few beers and a haircut. Something I've never said next to each other. Awesome brews, awesome cut, awesome experience. A few more shops and a slice of "not NYC" pizza and we were on our way home. Have you explored some towns outside of NYC? Which places do you recommend? #ny #newyorkstate #upthehudson #coldspring #travel #nycdaytrip #outsidethecity #rivertowns
I haven’t worked in an office setting for over 4 years and I would love to tell you it’s all daisies and roses, but it’s not. Getting my work done has never been an issue (in case anyone I work with reads this 😜). The biggest struggle are the mental challenges. Some weeks I barely get dressed or leave the apartment. It’s so important to feel like a part of society and I often forget that. This morning I forced myself to get up, shower and get dressed. It not only helped with my productivity, but my mental state got the boost I was craving. If you’re ever feeling in a funk, change your routine. Know there will be sweat pant days ahead, but at least for today, you were capable of change. Will I do this again tomorrow?
This is one of the reasons drone pilots will always tell you to "never take your hand off the controller." But I have to risk it sometimes since I am a "one man production crew" and I gotta get dem "likes." In case you are wondering, I did not lose the drone on this flight. I saved it right before it almost flew into the trees...I wish I could say that about another flight a few days later. I lost my DJI Spark. It's deep in the brush or floating in the water somewhere in Terres Basses. All part of the risk when you buy one and a good reminder for me to be more cautious when I fly. Sometimes, we get too comfortable in what we do! #sxm #drone #djispark #stmartin #closecall
What a thrill of a weekend! It was our first time exploring Atlanta and seeing the brand new stadium. The place is absolutely beautiful and just all out insane. The city of Atlanta did a killer job of hosting the SuperBowl. The people were so friendly and warm, and the overall planning of the event was well done and very organized. My hats off to the city of Atlanta...I will absolutly be back to see more of you. Of course, the weekend was topped off with the @patriots win which made it that much sweeter. A wild ride with my ride or die @jennga14. You gave me an experience I will never forget. WE GOT EVERYTHING! And thanks to @hola.niko for being an amazing host. You were such a big help in making this all happen! We will be back to visit to see you (or possibly just for more biscuits.)
Having a blast in Atlanta! Can’t wait for the game tonight. Ring the bell, LET’S GO! #superbowl @patriots #patsvsrams
It started as me just wanting a girlfriend who would root for the @patriots I never thought it would turn into her becoming a bigger fan than me and then her taking me to the Super Bowl as her guest. It wasn’t how I saw it happening, but I’m sure thankful it did. LET’S GO! #patriots #SuperBowl #NFL
