Orient Bay Beach in St. Martin as of October 2018

I visited Orient Bay beach on the island of St. Martin to see how the renovations were coming along after Hurricane Irma swept through and cleared the beach.

Here is what I found…

BIKINI BEACH

Bikini Beach Bar is open and looks absolutely amazing. They have chairs out and plenty of good food and drinks available.

KAKAO BEACH

Kakao Beach is opening soon! It looks like it’s going to be a wonderful place to be. Love the wood design and light and breezy air styling.

NUDE BEACH

The nude beach area/bar has been removed! From the information I have gathered, they had a difficult time keeping it afloat after the hurricane. We’ll see if it is able to re-open in the future.

ORIENT VILLAGE

Many places have been re-opened here since June. There are even a few new restaurants that have popped up including an Asian Fusion restaurant called Sao. It’s amazingly good.

SEAWEED UPDATE

They have cleaned a bunch of the seaweed off the beach, but a lot still has to be done. I would predict it will be mostly removed by the High Season (which starts mid-December). The ocean itself is very clean though. Great place to swim!
