Friar’s Bay & Happy Bay – After Hurricane Irma, St. Martin

After Hurricane Irma, the two restaurants on Friar’s Bay had a lot of work to do. It’s now been over a year and they have rebuilt to be better than ever. This beach, which is located on the north-west side of the island between Marigot and Grand Case is a must visit. The water is perfect for families and the restaurants give a wonderful variety of food and drinks. Chairs can be rented as well as umbrellas. So bring your sunscreen and have an incredible time at Friar’s Bay.

If you are the adventurous type, then you must follow the path on the North side of the beach for about a 10-min walk and make your way over to Happy Bay. This beach is a secluded little getaway for that “private island” feel. It’s a beautiful, white sand beach that offers an incredible amount of privacy.

These two beaches have recovered well from the hurricane and are an absolute must-go the next time you find yourself on the island of St. Martin | Sint Maarten.
