Best Travel Toy – Nintendo Switch

Traveling is great, but sometimes getting to your destination can be a complete drag. If you are like me, then you are always looking for a deal on flights, which many times means layovers and long days. That is where this little toy comes in handy!

The Nintendo Switch is a portable gaming system that I take everywhere. It has been a lifesaver while on long flights and bus rides. Although, it has been known to make me a little car sick on the bus, but I push through it.

It retails at $299 at BestBuy which has really been worth it for me. (Although with games anywhere from $10-$60 the price can start to go up!)

Some awesome features that come in handy are…

Smart Enabled

Get access to a world of instant entertainment with this product. Just connect to the Internet and stream movies, listen to music, and access a wide variety of other content. This includes Netflix, Hulu, and Youtube. So if you are on wifi, you can watch all your favorite shows on something larger than your cell phone.

Home gaming system

At home, the main unit rests in the Nintendo Switch dock, which connects the system to the TV and lets you play with family and friends in the comfort of your living room. So you can keep your games going on your home tv or if you bring your dock with you, anywhere you can plug an HDMI port. I have two different travel cases depending on if I will only be using portable or if I am going to want to plug it in somewhere.

My Portable Case – This is the case I use when I am only going to be playing in Portable mode. It’s smaller and fits great in a backpack.

My Switch Stand – This stand works wonders when on a plane. It will stick to your tray table. I have even had instances where the stranger sitting next to me will take a controller and play with me. Great way to meet people!

My Full System Case – This is a bigger case and is great if I will be spending some time in a house or traveling for a long period of time and want to be able to play on the full-screen tv.

On-the-Go

Lift Nintendo Switch from the dock and instantly transition to handheld mode for on-the-go gaming. By sharing Joy-Con, players can go head-to-head while away from home. Sharing is caring! See if anyone who is traveling with you feels like joining in on the fun. It’s the best way to find friends on the go. Who doesn’t like Mario Kart?

Joy-Con controllers

They can be inserted into a Joy-Con grip accessory to be used like traditional controllers, held comfortably in each hand for independent left and right motion controls, or shared between two players for multiplayer gaming. The basic system comes with two controllers. Most of the time, as a solo player, you will be using both at the same time. But what’s great about the system is you can also just use one and share the other. Yay for friends!

GAMES I’M PLAYING

RAYMOND LEGENDS – A hilarious side scroller game. Those who may have not played video games in awhile will feel right at home with this. This game has given me hours of entertainment and I still have more to play.

MARIO ODYSSEY – You can pretty much never go wrong with Mario. Go through worlds collecting stars. This game is just pure joy. You will love it.

MARIO KART – This is by far the most popular game to share with strangers. Everyone has a memory of playing Mario Kart at some point in life and it’s such an easy game to pick back up and play. Race around the tracks and watch out for Blue Shells!
